About Me

 

Hello and Welome to my blog.  If you have not already guessed my name is Danielle. I have a kick ass husband, his name is Ryan. We have been together for 11 years and married for 5. We have two beautiful daughters, Mya who is 5 and Madelyn who is 18 months.  I was born in California and raised in a small town in Central Minnesota. I graduated from North Dakota State University in 2010, GO BISON!!!! We love to eat, drink, travel see live music, try new things and build giant sand castles.  I am the oldest of 4 girls and  we have a bunch of nieces and nephews, family is my number one priority in life. 2 years ago my husbands company offered him opportunity to move over seas on a temporary project, so for the time being we live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Honestly I had no idea were that was before we accepted to assignment, so let me show you too in case you are unsure.

See there we are.  Anywho, 3 or so years ago I went to the Doctor for never ending fatigue. I felt like I was running on empty all the time no matter how much sleep I got.  The Doctor did some blood work and told me point blank without even seeing my blood work results if I ever wanted to get my energy back the first step would be to lose some weight. She said at least 60 pounds, but honestly it was more like 80 that needed to go.  We joined the Y and I started on the South Beach diet right away. I had great results losing 30 pounds and I really starting to like running. That diet didn’t stick but the habit of working out did. Although I feel it is a good diet and just what I needed to get started what I really needed in the long run was a full lifestyle change.  After my second daughter was born I decided to make my health and fitness a priority.  I hired a trainer and started learning about the food I put in my body.  I recently completed a 1/2 marathon and am trying very hard to follow a clean eating lifestyle.

I am still on my journey to health and fitness but I am much happier and healthier than I ever have been. I am supremely blessed to have a wonderfully supportive family and a really good life.

    Hi, just stumbled across your blog and wanted to let you know it’s inspiring. We are Americans living in Japan for my husband’s work. We have 3 girls 3 and under and I desperately need to get into shape. So I’m looking forward to reading about your journey in my quote unquote free time. lol

      Hi Kim- Thanks for visiting my blog. 3 under 3 that is impressive!!!And in a foreign country no less, that always has its challenges. I am happy that I can be an inspiration to you, that actually makes me feel pretty proud. I know first hand its not easy to get into shape and to break bad habits (I had a piece of pizza for breakfast) especially when you are a mom and use to taking care of your needs last. I think that is still the toughest part for me, fighting the guilt I feel when I spend 2 hours on a Saturday running instead of doing something for/with my girls. But I know in the end me being healthy, happy and sane (running is my stress reliever) is the best thing I can do for them.
