We are expecting our third child in November. This is a pleasant surprise for us and everyone is very excited, especially Mya who can not wait to be a big sister again.
Let me start with a Whole30 update: I made it 7 days before a gave into temptation at a kids birthday party. Cheese Croquettes and homemade caramel sauce brought me down. I am not going to make excuses, I am just moving on. I will continue with the menu I posted a few days ago and will post the menu for the final 15 days this weekend. If you are doing a Whole30 along with me keep going!! Even after a week of following the Whole 30 plan I was feeling so much better. I had never ending first trimester exhaustion and desperately needed some good fuel for my body and some tiger blood. I will continue to do the Whole30 even while pregnant (I have known for a few months) but not to lose weight, I have modified it slightly by adding more fruits and snacking a lot more. I am also monitoring my weight closely. Let me apologize for disappointing you all but again I am not dwelling, just moving on! I encourage you to so the same if you have hit some road bumps.
Thats what this health journey is all about, moving forward.
Now on to the point of this point. I am going to have to rethink some of my goals. Not give them up just adjust them.
Let me review what they were with you:
1. Spend more quality focused time with my kids
2. Read 12 Books
3. Refine my new skills
4. Volunteer my time and do more random acts of kindness
5. Get down to 123 Pounds
6. Complete 6 1/2 marathons
7. Do a Pull up
Obviously 1-4 are still things I am going to be able to do. I am cherishing the time Madelyn and I have during the day while Mya is at school. It wont be just her and I for long, she is growing so fast so some days it makes me weepy (stupid hormones). Mya impresses me everyday with her maturity and giant brain. Hopefully we can sneak in a few afternoon teas before life gets really crazy in the newborn days. I am 2 books down and have been trying to keep up blogging, I promise to do better.
Getting down to 123 pounds: I was going to throw that out of the window anyway, I want to be strong and fit and I don’t think thats 123 for me. I was feeling and looking really good at 135. But I don’t want to obsess over numbers. I just want to feel good. I think getting that small would eat into my muscle tone. My new goal is to not gain a crazy amount during this pregnancy, I gained 27 and 30 pounds with my first 2 pregnancies. Next year I will worry about the scale, Maybe.
Complete 6 1/2 marathons: I have one under my belt so far, I fully intend on running for as long as I can. My pace may slow but I will listen to my body and keep going as long as I can. If I can find a couple more to do before my third trimester I will but they fill up so darn fast out here and we have a lot of traveling coming up. So lets call this a work in progress.
Do a Pull up: yeah we will see!
A few questions for you: How are you all doing on your goals? How are you doing on your Whole30? How do you deal with set backs?
