Remember when I said I wanted to do a Whole90, yeah well I made it 27 days and then poor planning ended it. I spent this last weekend in Thailand for a obstacle course 10k. I had every intention of staying on plan but if got tough when almost no one at my hotel could speak English. Also have you ever had Thai food? It is so amazing!!! I believe mental health is just as important as physical health so I chose not to stress over food and to enjoy my little solo vacation.
I do not consider this a failure at all, Ryan and I still had 27 days of squeaky clean eating. I lost 8 pounds and 10 inches (4 off my stomach!!!!!) and most importantly we both felt awesome. I am still fully committed to eating healthy and really believe in the Paleo eating style. In fact as soon as I was back in town I got right back on the Whole30 plan. I plan on following Whole30 eating plans until we go to the US for a vacation in Feb. Why we are going to North Dakota in February is a question of our sanity which we can look into later. I still plan on doing an extended Whole30 some time this year I just have to find 60 or 90 days when we are not having extended travel, tough problem to have right!
Anywho what are we eating for dinner this week you ask? We will being doing full Whole30 this week, breakfast and lunches will be pretty standard for us; eggs, salads and leftovers.
On a side note Thailand is AMAZING!! This time I was in Chaing Mai which is in the north, nice chilly mornings and warm sunny afternoons. Their Sunday night market is like no other I have been to, so much unique stuff and it was huge. Blocks upon blocks of artwork, handmade clothes, food, carved wood, pottery and did I say food yet? I want to retire in Thailand, the people are so nice and laid back. And its so cheap to vacation there. The 10K I did was called Warrior Trail and it was a first for Chiang Mai. It was much tougher than I thought it would be but so much fun. Also I hate Zombies, like really hate them. I can’t even watch Shawn of the Dead, a comedy about the zombie apocalypse. This run had a zombie forest and I almost did not sign up because of it but an obstacle course run was a goal I set for this year so I got over it and just ran as fast as I could through that part. The next day I felt like I was in a car accident, my everything hurt and I have cuts and bruises everywhere but I can’t wait to do another one.
