Still going strong!! Tomorrow will be Day 15-Half way through for us!! I am feeling really good and did not give in to my wine cravings even with a few VERY STRESSFUL days last week. Malaysia is a crazy place where efficiency and quickness are not priorities at all. But that really has nothing to do with meal planning so I will save that rant for another time. We switched up a few things last week mostly because on Saturday (the worst day ever to grocery shop) I forgot my shopping list at home and had to just go by my very bad and distracted memory at the store. It took almost 30 minutes to find parking and my oldest was throwing a fit in a packed grocery store (like no carts left packed) because I wouldn’t buy her a giant pretzel. My youngest’s new favorite game is grabbing things off the shelf and throwing them on the floor. Again thats another story for another day. Moral of the story don’t shop distracted. So Saturday’s planned meal of fajitas did not actually happen but it will this week. We had Beef with Broccoli instead. The recipe came directly from the book, It Starts With Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. If you want to try doing the Whole30 or just really want to understand how food affects your body please read this book. It really is a game changer. There are a ton of resources online on the Whole30, like Whole30.com but really the book is the best place to start.
Fajitas–Told you we will have them. They are a family favorite
Sweet Potato Hash
Roasted Shrimp and Vegetables
Sheppard’s Pie– Modfied from the Well Fed Cookbook
Sweet Potato Hash
Chicken Zucchini Poppers
Mexican Chicken Soup
Cracklin Chicken with Cauliflower tots and Roasted Sweet Potatoes–A few Facebook Whole30 groups have been raving about this Chicken from Nom Nom Paleo so I have to try it.
Thats all I got so far– I promise some great recipes this week. I made some AWESOME Sweet Potato Hash for breakfast and the Chicken Meatballs last week were out of this world. Both of my kids cleaned their plates and my 5 year old asked for seconds (that NEVER happens) I don’t think she even noticed all the veggies in there.
